The kids were beyond excited to go to Disneyland. For those of you who don't know my parents and Kevin's parents came with us. We got a 2 bedroom hotel room with a little kitchen and we all stayed in the same room! I know for some of you that sounds INSANE, but we loved it! I asked Janey and Russell what they were most excited about for Disneyland and Janey said for her it was to see Oma and Opa (that is what we call Kevin's Mom and Dad), and Grandma and Grandpa. That was the cutest answer she could have given me. Russell told me he was most excited for the ice cream! I thought that was so cute. I told Kevin it didn't matter if the ice cream was ten dollars....we were going to get it for him!
The day we were leaving the kids were out of control! Of course this is the day Ella decided she wasn't going to take a nap! Kevin got home and we headed for the airport. I originally wasn't to worried about the airplane ride because I assumed the kids would be completely entertained with all the electronic stuff we were taking them (it was ridiculous how many things Kevin packed in his backpack)! Anyways...Ella was super ridiculous during the flight. No nap equals super squirmy, wiggly, out of control Ella. Luckily Kevin was sitting next to a nice couple:) The flight started out good...here is Ella while she is still happy.
Janey and Russell on the other hand were completely enthralled with with tv on the back of the seats. We flew jet blue and I had no idea each seat had it's own tv (in hind sight I would not have packed all of the electronics...the kids didn't use them one time on the flight there. At least 2 out of the 3 kids were happy! When we finally landed we ended up having to wait for our parents for a bit. The GPS they had took them to the wrong spot! Kevin took Ella and Russell to the hotel while I went with my Mom, Kevin's Mom, and Janey to Costco to get some food for out stay. Janey was so hungry she ate a whole Costco hotdog by herself in almost 2 seconds. She was being so cute during the shopping trip.
Here is a picture of Kevin's Mom, Janey, and my Mom when we first got through the line at Disneyland!
The first ride we took Janey on was Space Mountain. She looks a little silly in this picture but this is her waiting in line for her first ride! Luckily for us she is a Dare Devil and LOVED the ride! She wanted to go on it again right after!
I was all worried about Janey on the ride. I didn't like that it was so dark and I couldn't see her face to know it she liked it or not. That is why in this picture I look all worried, and Janey is loving it and I had not idea:)
Ella being a little princess!
In front of the Castle! This trip was so magical...that is the only word I can think of to describe it and it sounds so lame...of course it was magical, it's Disneyland! I seriously had so many moments during this trip where I would tear up...the expressions on my kids faces were so priceless! I would not have changed a single thing about this trip.
Going on "It's a Small World"
Janey waiting in line for Star Tours. Apparently she was the "Rebel Spy". I wasn't on the ride with her but I wish I could have seen her face when she saw her picture on the tv.
Waiting to be seated for our "Princess" lunch. We ate at Ariels Grotto. We bought a Costco package for this trip and this was part of it. I am telling you, if you ever go to Disneyland do a Costco package...it is soooooo worth it!
They finally got to meet Ariel!
Ella was so cute all during lunch. She even blew Cinderella a kiss, it was so precious!
Russell decorating his crown with Oma. Russell was super attached to Oma during the whole trip. He didn't want anything to do with anyone else.
The appetizers that they brought out were so yummy. They had these fun jello jigglers with fruit on the bottom that the kids loved.
After we sat down to eat all the Princesses came out one by one to greet us. This was one of the teary eyed moments for me:) It was so great because Janey had been asking to see the princesses all day and here they were coming to our table to talk to her...all of them! (well...the important ones anyways:). This lunch was seriously one of the highlights of our trip...and this first day (Saturday) was the most magical of all. Probably had something to do with the fact that everything was still new and no one was overly tired.
Janey enjoying her white chocolate sea shell. That thing was huge!
Oma and Ella enjoying dessert. The food here was amazing and they even brought out a whole dessert platter for us to share. When they brought out the check I was freaking out a little. It was $310.00. Lucky for us it was all covered by the Costco Package and we didn't even have to pay a tip because we had leftover money that paid for it. How insane is that!? It was awesome.
Meeting Flight Minnie at California Adventure.
My Mom, Dad and me.
Here is a picture of us with Ella on the new Ariel ride. Ella was so cute during all the rides.
Russell absolutely loved the Carousel.
Waiting for the parade to start. Russell was leaning up against the garbage can and I didn't even care because it was so clean.
Riding the flying rocket ride for the last ride of the night.
It was a wonderful day! Day 2 coming up tomorrow!
