So we recently returned from our latest adventure to Michigan. I must say that it was one of my most favorite trips ever! I realized on the trip that it was the first one that we have taken as just a family. It was so nice not having to worry about what other people wanted to do and just be able to do what we wanted. It also helped a ton that the kids were incredible the whole entire time!!
The first night we flew in we stayed at Kevins sisters house. It was fun to see her and her 6 kids (all age 9 and under...crazy I know!) In her behalf though...the youngest two are twins. Janey had tons of fun playing with her cousin. All they did the whole time was run around the house chasing each other squealing and poking each other in the belly button. It was very cute.
The next day we went to Grandville where Kevin grew up. It was his 10 year high school reunion. It was wonderful to finally see where he grew up and meet his friends. The people that we stayed with had a nice outdoor pool that was bathtub water temperature, it was so heavenly.
The next day we drove to Mackinaw City and then went to Mackinac Island (it is where Somewhere in Time was filmed) For those of you who haven't seen that movie you must go get it now! It was so beautiful. They don't allow cars on the island so we just walked around. Others use bikes and horses...it felt like we were back in time and Janey loved seeing the horses. It was pretty cold but well worth it. We also bought some Mackinac fudge. Apparently Mackinac Island is famous for there fudge, I didn't know that before but it really is amazing!
We ended the last 2 days with Kevins sister again. We went to a really fun Cider Mill and to a Bounce Zone. It was a wonderful trip....we came home with lots of good memories, and colds :) Thanks Kerrie for your hospitality!

Wow, what a beautiful place! And, I loved that movie, Somewhere Before Time! Classic. I'm glad to hear you had such a good time. Family vacations are funny - they're either disastrous or wonderful (at least for me).
